Lapsang souchong's flavour is strong and smoky, similar to the smell of a campfire or of pipe tobacco. The flavour of the pine smoke is meant to complement the natural taste of the black tea, but should not overwhelm it.
Lapsang is different to all other types of tea because the leaves are traditionally smoke-dried over pinewood fires, taking on a distinctive smoky flavour.
Use 10-15% tea amount to teapot ratio. You can make 4 infusions at a water temperature of 100°C with the following recommended brewing times: 1st brew: 1 min.; 2nd brew: 50sec. and 3rd brew: 1.5 min.
